
Michelle Rubin joins Creative Lawyers from NBC Universal International Studios’ Matchbox Productions and Tony Ayres Productions, where she served as Director, Business Affairs & Legal. She brings many years of experience across the screen, media and public sectors, advising on complex commercial, contractual and governance matters.
Michelle has worked across film and television from development through to production, leading negotiations on financing, talent and distribution agreements for major local and international projects. Prior to Matchbox, she held senior legal and program leadership roles at VicScreen and within the Victorian Government, developing expertise in funding, policy and regulatory frameworks.
She’s known for her pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and her ability to bridge legal, commercial and creative priorities—helping clients get projects off the ground and across the line. Michelle has always been driven by the magic of seeing creative visions become real—and making sure the legal side keeps up.
